A Small Room, A Big Adjustment

The hostel was overbooked, so tonight I’m in a nearby hotel — not glamorous, just a very small room.

After weeks of dorm life and the background hum of people, the quiet feels… different. It’s an adjustment.

I had connection earlier. And now it’s just me again — in a small space, with my own thoughts.

So I’m practising a simple reset:

I don’t need the room to feel big.
I just need my body to feel calm.

Practice (90 seconds):

• Put both feet on the floor.
• One long exhale. Relax shoulders and jaw.
• Look around slowly and name 3 neutral things you can see.
• Say: “This is temporary. I can settle here.”

Slow and steady. 👣

Why this works

Transitions trigger the nervous system — even positive ones. Naming it reduces friction. A grounding ritual tells the body: “We’re safe,” and helps the mind settle.
